Advertise your holiday property for less than a £1.50 a week and boost your business

Freshadventures features original properties and special interest holidays in the UK, Europe and  other destinations around the World.

Unlike other websites we believe that people are now looking for distinctive holidays that are just a bit different – either in where they stay or what they do. And our target audience is very much aimed at individuals with time and money to spend.

People interested in Freshadventures want to make sure that they plan an exciting holiday or break in comfort. They want  proper memorable adventure holidays and to experience new interests in places they have potentially not visited before. They want to wear the right kit and have the right equipment.  And when the sun sets  they want to stay in quality places, eat quality food and probably reach for a corkscrew rather than a beer can.

For all businesses, you can submit editorial and pictures plus a link and all those interested in your services will go straight through to you via your logo or hyperlinks. You deal with your bookings direct. We charge no commission, no agency fees and no PPC and all for as little as a £1.50 a week.

Advertising and Social Media – how Freshadventures can help grow your business.

More than just a listing

First the good news. There is a considerable amount of research by organisations such as Mintel that illustrate the growth of activity and what they describe as self development holidays. Meaning that the trend for simply “fly and flop” holidays abroad is now dwindling and that consumers are increasingly looking for holiday experiences with added interest and adventure. And those adventures come in many guises.

Mountain biking at your own pace

Consumers are now cycling far more, either on destination trips or on mountain bike challenges. We are encouraging ourselves to walk further and achieve goals – coastal paths, mountains, Munro’s, charity ambitions.

We are also looking to stay in more adventurous and green places – such as Yurts, teepees and tree houses – welcome to the world of Glamping!

There are many individuals who either want to return to a previous activity or take up a new interest  – such as horse riding, skiing, snowboarding, scuba diving or surfing. Significantly there are now many of us, influenced by TV programmes, who want to develop our cookery skills on holiday. That might be catching and cooking fish off the coast of Cornwall to travelling far further afield to cook the perfect pasta in Rome or the creamiest coconut curry in Thailand.

We are also keen to improve our techniques at photography, painting, writing and jewellery making. And especially on holiday where the climate and the colours are traditionally warmer and brighter people feel more relaxed and motivated to learn within like minded groups of others.

It’s the same with learning languages. Far better to be on holiday mixing with local people and picking up the rhythms and nuances in say a traditional market than in some dry evening class.

Health and well being are also high on our agenda of choice of holiday. We are increasingly looking for Spa and Yoga holidays sometimes combined with other disciplines such as dancing or surfing.

The economic climate and employment situation also dictates that it will be beneficial to learn new skills that might be used on a commercial basis and so development style holidays are seen as potential investments in our earning capability.

Research from organisations such as Visit Britain also illustrate that we are taking more short breaks in the UK – “Staycations” providing opportunities for holiday businesses and accommodation owners. There are other good news headlines for UK holiday businesses that will include a growth in tourism from countries such as the USA and Germany. (VisitBritain)

And the bad news? Although there is an increasing demand for holidays as described above there is also increasing competition with more businesses competing for this valuable market. There are also issues about reaching the market. With newspaper circulation dwindling and television advertising out of reach of most advertisers, it is the digital media that is now the most influential and available influence. But how do advertisers stand out from the crowd?

Digital Media. Is it all Google?

Google research figures show that now 80% of us research and book holidays online. In fact it is estimated that before we book a holiday we visit in total 22 sites on at least 8 occasions. And with billions of pages available how do companies/accommodation owners/businesses make themselves known?

Google is the search engine of choice although Yahoo and Bing might disagree. But essentially if you are not on the first or maybe the second page of Google – then you may as well be invisible. But how do you achieve that position without paying a small fortune for keywords? The answer is good original content with words, pictures, graphics, video and language.  But it’s not all about SEO or search engine optimisation and Google – now increasingly it’s also about Facebook, YouTube and Twitter with other influential bloggers and influencers, including Tripadvisor commenting on things to do and places to stay. This is social media and over the next few years will dominate the way we make our holiday decisions.

Freshadventures was launched in the summer of 2010 to be much more than another travel website. Whereas other sites just simply list holiday companies, we go in depth, creating original copy edited with key words and headlines that will create a far stronger more visible brand for your business – however large or small. We feature photographs – vital in holiday selection – and where relevant, maps and cross reference your business by region and by potential activity.

And although we are a recent addition – we have rocketed up the Google rankings to be on nearly every first page for relevant searches. In our first year alone we achieved 250,000 page views and we are expecting that to double again this year. Small businesses offering accommodation opportunities in Norfolk, Cornwall, Wales, Devon and Dorset are seeing excellent quality enquiries coming through to them month on month from an investment of £1.50 per week!

And for every holiday company, business and accommodation owner we Tweet and blog about the business and include on our Facebook profile. In other words we get people looking and talking about all the holidays featured on the site.

Cross Referenced by Activity and by Region One of the keys to the site is the cross reference by region and activity.

Case Study 1 .If you own a property  that you would like to rent out, then we can categorise you not just  geographically but also by activity. So if someone is looking for a walking holiday then your property will feature in that section too if you are based near mountains, hills or the coastline. In other words your one ad can appear on 5 different pages

Case Study 2. If you run a holiday business taking people abroad on “self development” breaks then you will appear in all those different countries and regions and under the activity giving multiple opportunities for exposure.

Style of Ad

Every listing will appear as a whole page featuring up to 4 photographs, descriptive content plus all your details and a logo that will link directly back to you. We don’t get involved in your bookings and we certainly don’t take any commission. All your business stays all your business.

Costs: For accommodation owners you get a whole page listing with pictures, editorial and a link straight back to you or your website for just £75 per annum. That’s less  than a £1.50 a week. And your listing could appear in several activity categories.

For business owners or tour operators your entry will cost £75 for the year. That’s about 20p a day for nationwide and worldwide coverage. And as most entries will appear on more than one page you could be looking at a cost of about 10p per day per complete page.

If you have one or more products/pages such as 5 different cycling holidays or 5 different properties then you will only pay £150 per annum. Between 6 and 10 products/pages, the cost will be £200 in total. And for 10- 20 products/pages the total charge will be £250.  So that could work out as little as £2.50 per page for the year.
